About me
I’m Tori Devine, LICSW, founder, therapist, and clinical supervisor of Devine Interventions Counseling and Wellness. I’m also a Certified Advanced Holistic Counselor and Coach and a trained Phase 1 Brainspotting Practitioner. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Advanced Standing Master’s degrees in Social Work from Salem State University and have spent over 20 years working in helping professions across a variety of settings and populations.
Some of my professional experience includes outpatient therapy, inpatient psychiatric treatment, addictions counseling, anti-trafficking work, domestic violence services, organizational leadership, and clinical supervision. While I’ve worked with many amazing people and in many unique settings throughout my career, I now focus my work exclusively on supporting women as an eclectic, holistic private practice therapist.
Many of the women I work with are used to holding everything together for everyone else while quietly struggling themselves. They may be navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, overwhelm, perfectionism, people pleasing, emotional exhaustion, or difficulty prioritizing their own needs without guilt.
I’m also someone with lived experience who has navigated functional and social anxiety, functional depression, disordered eating, trauma, and a late-in-life ADHD diagnosis (I’m a splash of neurospicy). Not only have I helped many others, but I’ve also received the gift of therapy myself. I recognize the value and impact that working with a therapist who is a genuine fit can have on quality of life and the ability to move beyond surviving and toward thriving.
Things I believe in:
Celebrating both small and big wins.
Healing, while typically neither easy nor linear, is possible.
Self-care is a necessity, not a luxury.
Progress, not perfection.
Taking what we need, and leaving the rest.
Accepting the things we cannot change, having courage to change the things we can, and working on developing the wisdom to know the difference.
I strive to create a space that is compassionate, authentic, collaborative, anti-racist, anti-sexist, LGBTQIA+ affirming, body positive, HAES-aligned, kink-positive, sex-positive, and grounded in respect for your lived experience and individuality.
“My mission in life is not nearly to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” -Maya Angelou.
